Before applying: Preparation and self-analysis

Where am I today and where do I want to go? Clarity is needed to plan your career:
Analyze your goals and aspirations, as well as your strengths and weaknesses. Does my current job match my career plan, or should I consider leaving and changing the job?

Find out which job positions are right for you and juxtapose the job posting with your career profile. Do you need additional education, training or experience?

Make a plan for professional development opportunities.

Create the perfect application for the desired position

A good performance is the ticket to your new job. Take the time to prepare all the necessary documents for your application in an attractive way.

We at TUG At Personal share our experience of numerous job interviews and what is really important in the application process.

1. Curriculum vitae ( CV ): the heart of the application

The CV is the only component that matters at the application stage. The goal of the perfect CV is to convince the recruiter of your abilities (hard and soft skills), work experience and education in an attractive and well-structured form. And since, apart from your professional competence, your personal appearance is also important, part of your application should also include the photo – in the form of a professional half-portrait.

2. Cover letter: your introduction

In the past, the classic cover letter served to convince the recruiter that you are the right candidate for the job. More and more companies are abandoning the mandatory cover letter. A complete digital resume or career profile is usually sufficient for the first application. In some professions – especially in the creative field – a great cover letter can be the icing on the cake.

3. Testimonials, references and certificates as evidence of quality

When it comes to applications and references, you should take the ‘class, not mass’ credo to heart. Therefore, attach to the application only documents that highlight your skills in relation to the requirements stated in the job advertisement.

After the application and before the interview

Have you been invited for an interview? Congratulations. Perfect preparation for the interview is half the battle.

Knowledge is power

Find out about the job opening, prepare good answers to the most important questions and think of 2-3 relevant questions to ask the recruiter.

Present yourself confidently and professionally

Your dress code, hairstyle, body language and self-confidence can and will influence the recruiter's decision.

Job benefits and salary negotiations

Nervousness and reserve are out of place. Find out how to confidently ask for the salary you deserve. This is usually called the gross monthly or annual salary, including benefits.
